El sistema de partidos en México y la variación de sus configuraciones

La relación entre el sistema electoral y el de partidos es uno de los fenómenos más estudiados en la ciencia política contemporánea. En general, existen dos grandes perspectivas para su estudio: la corriente sociológica y la institucionalista. El presente artículo las analiza dentro del contexto mexicano, particularmente para las elecciones presidenciales y de senadurías en 2018. Los hallazgos apuntan a que existe un efecto importante de la proporcionalidad de las reglas electorales sobre el número efectivo de partidos en México, y que el contexto social interviene en la composición del sistema de partidos, cuando las normas electorales son permisivas.
